Blog 8-In my opinion

About buying instead of adopting pets. This is a recurrent discussion especially in dogs, and my opinion is so clear, I never recommend to buy a pet, the pets have no price, there are thousands of dogs in the street ready to be rescue and the people pay for one I don't really understand,normally the dogs are maltreated and forced to have more puppies to sell and that is wrong, so buy pets is fomenting the pets abuse.

About having an exotic pet at home, that topic is related to the previous one, if you adopt them is not any problem, but in this case it is difficult to adopt because they are exotic and not  are in the streets, In some places of United States, in the streets live racoons, and that is one of my favorite exotic animal, I would like to find them in Chile.  this animal is not too exotic, If we talk of really exotic animals I would like to have a baby lion but it is dangerous and adopt them is illegal.

About legalizing marijuana and other drugs. This is a controversial topic but I think that the problem is the disinformation, the authorities continue to think that is better idea, do not talk about, and continue with the tabu, but I think that the majority of drugs can be legal with the correct education, finally I want to the authorities legalize marijuana and some other drugs but first informanding to the consumers what are they consuming.

About immigration my thinking is very utopical, I think that the world is for everyone and if you don't feel well in your country you should can go to everywhere you want, but in the reality the truth is that are so many problems with this though, for example the overpopulation in the first world countries, or the abandonment of poor countries, for this reason I understand that the immigration isn't possible in all the cases, but I dream with a world without frontiers.

Blog 7-From cartoons, animes to TV series

When I was child my prefered tv channels were Jetix and Nick, I liked a lot of cartoon series in that time, but I remember one that was my favourite, was ''Dave the Barbarian'' this show describe the life of a Barbarian in the middle age and how he fight with his enemies, but there is a problem, he is a little coward. I used to watch this tv show with my two brothers, and we enjoyed every second of the cartoon

I never really like mangas or comics, it seems boring to me, I'm a little lazy to read, but I watch a lot cartoons tv shows and animes, as a child was my favourite entertaining and now I remember with love those shows,  an anime that I liked too much was Yu-Gi-Oh! a anime of a card game.

Nowadays I don't watch tv, Netflix replace it, but I'm an addicted I watch too much series, somedays I watch 10 episodes in a night, my favourite genre is the drama, but in the last time I started to watch more comedy.

I don't talk about series with my friends, but I think that is a  really interesting topic, talk about the favourites shows of the childhood, remember it with the nostalgia that deserves, or talk about the new ones, are a lot of good series if you take time to watch it a example of this is can be ''elite'' a spanish series that was release in october of this year.

Blog 6-Post graduate studies

After I finish my Food enginiering professional degree a postgraduate course that I want to take in the future is the post-title in ''management, cuality and safety of food'', this course is given in the Faculty of Chemical Sciences and Pharmacy in the University of Chile, but I don't discard study in another country if I have the chance.
The most interesting part of this course to me if the cuality management of the food, I ever want to improve the cuality of the food in this country and the conocements that this part of the course give to me are very good.
This course is a part-time course, the presential classes are 3 hours twice or three times a week. In my personal opinion I prefer study in distance.
If I finish this post-title aproving all the contents I can continue with a master in food with mention in management, cuality, and safety in food doing the master thesis proyect.
The duration of these 2 postgraduate course is 6 semester in total, 3 years more of studies, but for me is the best or safest option.
Another option that I have is study a MBA master degree, and when I finish that make my own company of food this option is most risk but the people say that nothing ventured, nothing gained so maybe the best option could be this.

Blog 4-From the invisible to the visible world and back

The microorganisms are a amazing type of life, invisible to the human eye, but you can see them through a microscope, they are used for a lot of things, for example in the water treatment the microbe can breathe dissolved substances, also they can generate energy producing methane gas, or can be used in the food production, we gonna focus on the last use of this microorganism because my career is about the food and the process that includes.

In the food production the microorganism is use to many things, but the most important is the fermentation this is a method to preserve the food and alter its quality, the most common food that microorganisms are use to make are cheese, yogurt, wine and bread .

The microorganisms are very important even though the people only relate them with illnesses, they are in the human gut flora, without them we can not live, over 100 billions of microorganisms live in the human body, and less the 5% is harmful to the health and that's the unique problem, but its well comparing the benefits and risks

In the future the microorganisms can be the solution for all our problems, can be the solution to the lack of drinking water, or they can be the way to produce energy clean. Seriously the microorganisms are an interesting thing to study.

Blog 2-The best concert ever

I will never forget the day when I saw my first concert, was the best concert that I have ever been to, in 2014 like a gift of birthday my friends gave me a ticket of my favourite band ''Tronic'', they are a chilean band of rock,  are very unfamous but a good band.

The concert was in ''sala scd'' in the shopping mall Plaza Vespucio, in a saturday of march, I remember that I went with a school friend, we arrived at 12:00 to wait and take a good place, we were so excited. about 13:00 I entered in the room, at that time it was still sunny but inside of the room all the ligths was off, and gave the idea that was night, we were in second row, very close to the idols, I was very happy, during the concert the room was very warm and there was no ventilation, that was the unique bad point, the rest was perfect in the moment, I remember that day I bough a shirt of the band and I still keep it, it helps me to don't forget this day.

Blog 1-A country I would like to visit

If I had the opportunity I would like to go Europe, there are so many different cultures together, the Italian ''Pizza'', the Spanish ''Paella'', or the French ''Escargot''. I would like to visit every country in Europe, each one is especial.

For example Italy have a huge variety of good food, my favourite thing to do in the life is eat, so visit this country would make me so happy, also i would like to visit the big monuments of this country like the Coliseum, the tower of Pisa or the Venice channel and I would like to visit the country that has inside ''Vatican city'' and the Sistine Chapel in here.
In Germany the architecture is amazing and unique and they have one of the best festival in the world the "Oktoberfest".

But if I had the opportunity of study in Europe I would live in England because I understand a few the language and the time here can help to understand and talk better, this country has the best universities like the Oxford university, and has big monuments like the Big Ben or the London Eye to visit some day.
Eat fish and chips and have a cup of tea every day seem a good idea.

FAVOURITE SERIES, MOVIE OR BOOK

My favourite series is Breaking Bad, this is an american tv series developed by Vince Gilligan,
the series is about the story of Walter White a chemist teacher with some economics problems, one day he is diagnosed with cancer, he start to cook and sell methamphetamine to pay the cancer treatment and leave money to his family when he dies, to know the business he talk with a former student of him named Jesse Pinkman ,but both are very differents and have some troubles, and the big problem is that his brother in law Hank is an agent of the DEA(drug enforcement administration) so he have to be very careful in his acts.

I like it because shows a normal person entering in the illegal world and how he change over time, the things that he can do to make money without get catched and leave money to his family, and it put some interrogants in the table like ''why some drugs are illegal and others aren't''.
Also shows the ignorance of the people about the drugs, something very normal because is considered like a taboo subject.

A person/expert on your field that you admire?

A person that I admire is Marcelo Navarro, he is a food engineering graduated of the ''Universidad de Chile'', 31 years ago he created laboratories of Chile called Garden house (one of the most important national companies of nutritional supplements).

He was head of production at a food plant for 2 years, then he work as technical seller of water treatment, after a year in that job he left and he became independent, and with only US$ 1.000 as capital he created his own laboratory, he started using his wife's house to start manufacturing, today his company has presence in 17 countries, 75% of his products are exported, and he have the only Latin American medicine that is in all of USA(Ciruelax).

He is a person that I admire because he is like me, someone that isn't perfect with few difficulties in college but he never left his dream, he finished a 5-year career in 7 but never gave up, he is an example of emerging with few resources and reach the top, today he supports the new students of this career a lot and that is very admirable too.

MEMORABLE HOLIDAYS/VACATIONS

One of the special holidays that I had was in February 2009 in which together with my family I traveled to the ''Termas del flaco'' to know the footprints of dinosaurs, this is a place located in the sixth region of the Liberator General Bernardo O'Higgins, if you come from Santiago you have to travel approximately 8 hours to reach the place, is very close to the limit of Chile with Argentina. When we arrived I remember that the first thing we did was rest after that long trip, the next day was when I finally entered to the hot springs, they were very expensive, but it was very relaxing, we stayed a while and then we went to the town, the next day was the most fun but also the most tiring because we had to walk a lot and go up the mountain but the result was worth it, finally we came to the big dinosaur footsteps, it was the first time I saw one and that was the most important thing of this holidays. Me and my family stayed for a week in that town and we left.
 I still think that paleontology is very wonderful and this trip is a very good memory of that.

I really like pictures, I love see the family photo album, but I don't like to take pictures, so in this case the photograph was taken by my father in a hill 2 or 3 years ago, in the town of my grandparents, that was taken in winter so the landscape looks very green, and shows the beautiful of the flora in this place. Next to the hill you can see my grandparents house and in the background you can see the Andes mountains.

I really like the photo becuase shows a important part of my life, in this place I to play with my cousins, we play soccer, hide and seek or we ride bike. very usual see the whole family together and climb the hill, honestly I prefer the winter to climb the hill because there are less insects or bees, but in summer I climb anyway is a familiar tradition.

Music.(My favourite musician)

In general all my life I have liked many music genres but since I was child I liked the rap more than other. I don't know if is the rhythm or the lyrics but I enjoy a lot this genre.

When I was child my favourite band was ''Calle 13'' a  Puerto Rican band,its creators are Residente and Visitante, they formed the band in 2004(really new I think),they have 5 album and won a lot of award, 3 grammy (the most important award of the music industry) and 21 latin grammy but nowadays the band is separated.

This year I started to listen a very known raper and in this moment is my favourite musician his name is ''Eminem'', he is a american raper, he isn't very young at all, he is 45 years old. He haves 8 album and one movie.
The rolling stone magazine ranked him in the list of 100 greatest artist in the world, he won 7 grammy and in 2002 he won a Oscar award in the category of ''best original song'' for his song ''Lose yourself'' from 8 mile

My favourite piece of technology

When I was child, my favourite piece of technology were the computer, the first that I have was of my older brother, he  have one and sometimes he lend to me, I only play in his computer, because I didn't know how do other things.
Later when I got old my parents bought me a laptop, because is portable and more comfortable than a computer, and i felt in love. I used to play videogames all day when I come home after the high school, my favourite game was ''LoL'' and I was a great player :'(.
Today the laptop is still my favourite piece of technology, I use everyday after the university, but no to play, now I use it to make homeworks, listen to music, watch netflix or youtube and, for social networks.
The laptop is my favourite because is the most comfortable, I can stay with this in my bed or the sofa, well with the cellphone I can do the same, but the laptop is better to watch series or write something like this.
Without the laptop my life would be more uncomfortable, because I have to make the homeworks in the university, and not in my bed, or listen to music without the great sound system that have the laptop( because my cellphone have really bad speakers).

Why did i choose this career?

When I was a child I never had a real idea that I wanted to do in the future. I didn't see me as an actor, office worker, or something. But I became older and I had to choose, the moment that i really start to question this was in my last year of school, I know that everyday I had less time to make one of the most important choice of my life, and I decided to inform about university programs.
At the moment of applying to university my options are food engineer and pharmaceutical chemist, and finally I chose to study the first, acord to my experience in the university this is the correct decision, nothing about the career disgust me, and I more interested that when I entered.
 When I finish this program I want to work in a big food company like Nestle and Coca-Cola company, or in McDonald's to finally know if the meat is made of real meat.

Autobiography

Hello my name is Emilio Valdivia, i was born in Santiago, Chile in 2000, i have lived in the same city since i was born, my birthday is 02/14 saint valentine day, my first school was ''hermanas del niño jesús'' a catholic school , but is only a primary school, so i finished my secondary in ''liceo 7'' of ñuñoa, now im studying food engineering in the University of Chile, i'm only in the first year of this career but is the start to a great future, i like to play football not professional only as a hobby, also i like playing videogames both are really important to me, and both makes me happy, another thing that i like is listening music, but i'm not sure if i like or i love this, probably the second.
 About my family when i was child i used to live in peñalolen with my parents and 2 brothers but my parents get divorced in 2014 and i move house to live with my mom and brothers , today i continue frecuenly seeing my dad so it wasn't a real change to my life, but in this year my older brother go to teach to the south of chile he is comercial engineer but he wants to teach a few years and then practice his profession , so my family is smaller now, probably i going to be the next that leave the house to be independent but there is a long time to that happen.
